Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) established under a special
act, The Nepal Chartered Accountants Act, 1997 to enhance social recognition
and faith of people at large in the accounting profession by raising
public awareness towards the importance of accounting profession as
well as towards economic and social responsibility of the accountants, and to
contribute towards economic development of the country.

Strong
Institutions are built by strong, honest and self-less leaders. When weak
persons are elevated to higher positions, they not only undermine their
sanctity, but even make such Institutions irrelevant.

are going through major following problems decreasing our
professional’s dignity with no value even at the level of accounting and
auditing profession:

Lack control on code of conduct (i.e
Control on Limit of No. of Audit, Control in Auditing Double Financial
Statements, One Man one Profession etc)
The Institute losing its Authority and stands
before various regulators;
Our own Govt. criticizes us and ignores
the contribution of CA profession in nation building.
The value of services we offer (compromise
in quality due to cheap competition among and within us), gets seriously
impacted;
The growth of the Institute getting
stalled;
General loss of professional
opportunities;
I
request all the members to take these issues seriously and stand together for
an expected Change to be brought at. We need honest and strong members to be a
leader to lead with professional qualities and can take our Institute to
greater height with a clear vision and determination. The Government must
recognize us as Partners in progress and view us as problem-solvers, not
just an Auditor. Audit is just the minor part of our assignment, we
have a long go beyond just an Audit. The regulators must depend on us and
recognize our professional qualities and traits.

going to Organize at Hotel Yad & Yeti, The CA Conference for Consolidation
of all the Professionals, Government Delegates and Numbers of Other
Stakeholders Nationally for the welfare of National Economy on a single
platform to the delight of the Participants, so that everybody could lead in
the their own capacity to take the nation to the greater heights.
